About Mike Potvin
I built my first guitar in 2003. In 2008 I left my career as an IT geek and started Potvin Guitars.
While selling my own guitars, I started supporting other guitar builders who needed help by offering advice and tutorials on my website.
In 2014, I started designing and selling my own line of guitar-building Jigs and templates. That’s when I really started leaning into teaching and supporting other builders.
For the past 17 years, building guitars and helping other builders has been my full-time passion.
Mission
A mission is a company’s north star. It establishes a reason for being — the “why” behind everything.
My Mission: To create a friendly community for guitar builders, providing the education and encouragement to reach exceed their guitar building goals.
The GMA Team
Full confession: the “Team” is just me (Mike) and the amazingly dedicated Mrs. Potvin Guitars.
I always say that I “just make the guitars”. Mrs. P is an amazing photographer, videographer, editor and story teller.
She generally stays behind the scenes, but she’s currently working on her upcoming GMA Course “Taking Better Photos Of Your Guitars”.
